![]() ![]() The latency data from the Application Load Balancer (ALB) suggests that Nginx Unit might even be performing worse than PHP-FPM, which contradicts the New Relic data. Moreover, my AWS Load Balancer seems to concur with my observation. When I have it unselected it works as normal. Interestingly, in real-world usage, I don't feel a noticeable difference. When using PHP-FPM, there are two mechanisms for setting PHP variables outside the INI file and one special technique for NGINX: Edit the PHP-FPM poolper-directory settings. When I select PHP-FPM for a site it is no longer showing up inside New Relic. For additional information about specific agent updates, refer to the PHP agent release notes. After migrating to Nginx Unit, New Relic has shown significantly better results compared to PHP-FPM. However, after reading about some promising performance metrics indicating that Nginx Unit outperforms PHP-FPM, I decided to test it out. Initially, I tried using PHP-FPM + Nginx on a standard setup for my 2 vCPU server. We'll install PHP and configure Nginx to send requests to PHP files off to PHP-FPM. I'm currently testing various setups for my API which is based on Symfony 5.4, and I've encountered some unexpected results. ![]()
